What is zinc-carnosine?
Zinc is an essential trace element and a component in more than 300 biochemical reactions. It plays a role in DNA and RNA synthesis, which is significant for tissue repair. Carnosine is a naturally occurring protein composed of the amino acids, L-histidine and B-alanine, which can form stable complexes with minerals such as zinc.
Zinc-carnosine is produced when zinc and carnosine are bound together to create a chelate compound. This compound has been found to be three times more effective than supplementing with either zinc or L-carnosine individually.
